Biography

Paul Neudorf has several years experience editing and directing video. His film Strands, an experimental dance film supported by Bravo!FACT and the National Film Board of Canada, was awarded 1st place in the ‘experimental narrative’ category at the 58th Columbus International Film + Video Festival and a Golden Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival. Strands is screening across Europe and North and South America.

His first experimental film, Refractions, also funded by Bravo!FACT, has screened internationally, premiering March 2009 at the Festival International du Film sur l’Art (FIFA) in Montréal. Recently Paul completed a short documentary On the male side of middle about transgender Mennonite Calvin Neufeld and his family.

He edits video for various clients, both private and corporate, such as: National Geographic Channels International, The Banff Centre, Women in the Director’s Chair, L’Ensemble contemporain de montréal+, McGill Institute for Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies, Montréal singer/songwriter Amanda Mabro, Concordia University Television (CUTV), and directors such as Clark Ferguson, Paramita Nath, Karen Chapman and Mechthild Reinders, among others.

From 2007-2009 Paul taught video to youth in an innovative new video and media education program for youth at the Segal Centre’s Academy for Performing Arts.

Since September 2010, he has been participating in the Digital Film and Media program’s video editing work-study at The Banff Centre in Alberta. He edits video on projects such as the Banff Mountain Film Festival, Women in the Director’s Chair program, video art installations, publicity spots and editing various short documentary and fiction films for visiting directors.
