Biography

Paul Neudorf has several years experience editing and directing. After studying journalism at Concordia, he started working in documentary film, which branched out to include experimental dance film.

As a director, his films have screened in over 30 international film festivals. Strands, an experimental dance film supported by Bravo!FACT and the National Film Board of Canada, was awarded 1st place in the ‘experimental narrative’ category at the Columbus Int’l Film + Video Festival and a Golden Palm Award at the Mexico Int’l Film Festival. He also made a short documentary ‘On the male side of middle’ about the story of a trans Mennonite and his family, which is being used in educational programs across North America.

He has edited for various clients, including: National Geographic, Concordia University, The Banff Centre, McGill University’s Institute for Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies, L’Ensemble contemporain de Montréal, Toronto Centre for Active Transportation, and for various award-winning independent filmmakers.

From 2010 – 2012, he participated in the Digital Film and Media’s video editing work-study program at The Banff Centre in Alberta. There he edited videos for the Banff Mountain Film Festival, Women in the Director’s Chair, promo videos and various short documentary and fiction films for visiting directors and producers.

He has also taught video to youth in video and media education programs such as the Segal Centre’s Academy for Performing Arts and iDTech Film camp.
